Vail is located 100 miles west of Denver in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Demographics

• Vail is located in eastern Eagle County.
• Vail is home to 4,500 permanent residents, plus another 5,000 part-time residents of vacation properties.
• Eagle County has a year-round population of 41,659.

• Vail is part of the Eagle County School District which operates eight public elementary schools (one of which is located in Vail), five middle schools, two high schools, one alternative high school and one charter school.
