Silverthorne, "the gateway to Summit County", is only about a one hour's drive west of Denver. Dillon is a full service community that lies 2 miles outside of Silverthorne.

Demographics

Silverthorne has a year-round resident population of 3,200.
Dillon has a year-round resident population of approximately 750.
Silverthorne and Dillion are located in Summit County (population of 25,399).

Education

Silverthrone and Dillon are a part of the Summit School District which has six elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.
Dillon is home of the Colorado Mountain College Summit Campus and both towns are in close proximity to the University of Colorado at Boulder (57 miles), the Colorado School of Mines (60 miles) and Red Rocks Community College (63 miles).

The Dillon Town Center is home to many Summit County businesses; it provides services, dining and entertainment opportunities within walking distance from Lake Dillon.
The Dillon Ridge Market Place and the Dillon Factory Stores, on Highway 6, are a mix of local and national chain businesses offering entertainment, restaurants, retail and services.
The new full-service Dillon Marina offers access to beautiful Lake Dillon and world class sailing in Colorado.
Boating, trout fishing and mountain recreation opportunities are available for exploring the lake, fishing or basking in the summer sun.
The marina offers boat rentals, sailing instruction, racing regattas and is home to the Dillon Yacht Club, the highest club in North America, at over 9000 ft. elevation.
Summer in Dillon is unrivaled for family fun with boating on Lake Dillon, free Nature Nights, Friday Farmers Markets and concerts at the open-air Lake Dillon Amphitheatre.

Local Attractions in Silverthorne

Once the snow melts, Silverthorne’s Blue River becomes a big draw.
The Blue River sports four different types of fat and feisty trout.
Fly-fishing is the preferred method, but lure fishing is also effective along the banks.
Silverthorne's newly completed 62,000 sq. ft. recreation center offers plenty of indoor recreation for both residents and visitors alike.
Silverthorne also has its own outlet mall: The Silverthorne Factory Stores, with over 70 brand name shops are widely known for exceptional value, quality, and variety.
The surrounding Ptarmigan and Eagles Nest Wilderness areas are excellent for outdoor recreation of all kinds.
