Idaho Springs is located in Clear Creek Canyon just upstream from Golden about 30 miles west of Denver. At an elevation of 7524 feet, Idaho Springs lies at the base of the Mount Evans Scenic and Historic Byway.

• From an early settlement of only 400 people, Idaho Springs has grown to 1,889 today.
• Idaho Springs is the largest town in Clear Creek County.
• Clear Creek County has a population of 9,322.

• Idaho Springs is part of the Clear Creek School District and has one elementary school, one middle school and one high school located in Idaho Springs.
• Idaho Springs is also well within reach of the Colorado School of Mines (23 miles) and University of Colorado at Boulder (26 miles).
